Sunday Pick : Unforgettable J-Drama Soundtracks

blife

Its November already and i missed Takuya Kimura so bad. Err..connected? No? Okay, it doesn’t matter, i’ve just finished Beautiful Life (2000) for countless times. And i’m still found my self crying after. But actually, i’m not Kimutaku’s fans back then, I prefer Matsuda Shota ( Liar Game, Hana Yori Dango). How to explain it…i’m not his fans, but i love his unforgettable dramas so much. And surely i’ll put Beautiful Life in the first place.

So, since it Sunday and i’m talking about unforgettable drama, what about visiting the past with some unforgettable J-drama soundtracks? Okay, base on my dull observation, the classic j-drama just need one of these musician to boost their drama’s popularity : Mr. Children, B’z, Kazumasa Oda, and Tatsuro Yamashita. In the other hand, they love to put some western music as the opening or the ending songs.

So, here they are, the unforgettable J-drama soundtracks for The Sunday Pick:

  1. La La La Love Song – Toshinobu Kubota (ft. Naomi Campbell)

La La La Love Song is Toshinobu Kubota’s belong to the 9th album, La La La Love Thang (1996). I love this song but i’m not really enjoying Long Vacation. Its kinda boring. But i can’t help my self to finished it until the last episode since Yutaka Takenouchi looks so young and fresh.

2. True Love – Fujii Fumiya

Honestly, i’m never watched Ordinary People. But this pop ballad really popular back then till now. This song is Fujii Fumiya’s (1993), sold over 2 million copies. Those guitar lines in the very beginning just really memorable.

3. Konya Tsuki Mieru Oka Ni – B’z

I guess this piece is one of the best song from this duo. I wonder why on the earth they put such a rock song for (mellow) drama like Beautiful Life. But in the end i couldn’t imagine another song but this number one single (Oricon Chart, 2000).

4. Tatsuro Yamashita – Zutto Issho Sa

I listened to this song long before i watched the drama, Bara No Nai Hanaya (2008). This also my first crushed with the legendary Tatsuro Yamashita.

5. Flavor of Life – Utada Hikaru

I choose this one as the most unforgettable dorama’s OST from Hikki instead of Prisoner Of Love (Last Friend),  First Love (Forbidden Love), or Can You Keep A Secret (Hero). The reason is simply because Hana Yori Dango 2 (2007) got the huge success and many people familiar with this theme song.

6.  Tatsuro Yamashita – Ride On Time

You know what, i’m never watching the whole episode of Good Luck (2003) but this song always remaining as the most unforgettable. I guess its easy for Mr. Yamashita to produced such a city pop that really fit the story of dorama.

7. Tsubomi – Kobukuro

Tokyo Tower is (2007) heartbreaking drama, Tsubomi is heartbreaking soundtrack.

8. Love Story Wa Totsuzen Ni – Kazumasa Oda

Everybody knew Tokyo Love Story (1991) and its never getting old. Kazumasa Oda composed this song as his single Oh Yeah!/Love Story Wa Totsuzen Ni released on February 6th, 1991.

9. Destiny – My Little Lover

Not so many people remember the drama With Love (1998) starring Yutaka Takenouchi and Misato Tanaka. I like the story, the plot, and also the musics since it was about music composer. My Little Lover composed the song called Destiny for this drama and its became classic by the time.

10. Ichibu To Zenbu – B’z

In my opinion, Buzzer Beat (2009) is quite memorable drama from Yamashita Tomohisa. And that catchy theme song will always be the one of the most unforgettable. Oh how i miss to sing this song on karaoke.
