Zion. T Anyone?

ziont

I dunno who exactly is Kim Hae-Sol a.k.a Zion.T before, i knew nothing about him except his work with G-Dragon’s I Love It in his latest album Coup d’Etat. Even in that song its hard to define which one GD’s or Zion T’s voice is. I’m not really into that song, by the way.

It’s funny how finally i really listen to his music. I still wondering what’s my favorite track from Big Bang’s MADE Series since Looser till Zutter. Seem’s i don’t really into this album cause i always end up comparing this with Alive. But i still keep my eyes on their live performances and any activities including variety show. So, i bumped into Infinite Challenge last month, which is GD and Taeyang involve in this show. That was the first time i saw Zion. T and his unique personality.

Belong to Amoeba Culture, South Korean Hip-Hop label, house for some finest hip-hop artist such as Dynamic Duo, Yankie, Crush, Primary, etc. He’s doing collaboration with many hip-hop musicians, but i think his own music genre is soulful RnB. For some point, maybe people thought he’s impersonating Michael Jackson. But its okay, he’s not the only one. Some people might not comfortable with his voice, but i think he’s a good singer. He has his own technique that makes the song sounds more soulful.

So, lets jump to his song. This song below called “Eat”.

And this is the most sentimental song i ever heard from K-POP scene: Yanghwa BRDG

I love musician who really honest with their music. He’s not shy to write such a lyrics like this:

I was always alone at home
My dad was a taxi driver
Whenever I asked him where he was
He’d answer, the Yang Hwa Bridge
Every morning, he’d leave me candy and ramen
My dad would end his shifts at dawn
I remember the young me, always waiting for his pocket
Mom, dad, my two older sisters
I was the baby of the family, the cutie
I remember those days
I remember

Let’s be happy
Let’s be happy
Don’t be sick, don’t be sick
Let’s be happy, let’s be happy
Don’t be sick

I’m making money, I’m making all the money
I used to ask my mom for ten cents
My mom and dad, even my dog
They all look to me now
I’m getting a call, it’s my mom
Ring ring, “Hi son, how are you?”
She asks me where I am
I’m at Yang Hwa Bridge

Mom, let’s be happy
Don’t be sick, don’t be sick
Let’s be happy, let’s be happy
Don’t be sick

Back then, when I was young
I didn’t know anything
The feeling of walking across that bridge
Whenever I asked him where he was
My dad would always be at
Yang Hwa Bridge, Yang Hwa Bridge
I’m standing there right now

Let’s be happy
Let’s be happy
Don’t be sick, don’t be sick
Let’s be happy, let’s be happy
Don’t be sick

Let’s be happy
Let’s be happy
Don’t be sick, don’t be sick
Let’s be happy, let’s be happy
Don’t be sick

Its early in the morning when i’m crying a lot because of this song. And i’m crying harder when i suddenly remember that i forgot my father’s birthday 2 days ago.

  1. The way you feel sentimental about Yang Hwa bridge is how I felt about eat when I first heard it. You’ve inspired me to share about how his music made me feel. Thank you 🙂
